Does this just drop straight in? ive just ahd a new engine in my Mk2 but this engines come up cheap as chips already cammed + mapped etc so just wandering what, if any.. mods are needed to get one to fit?

Replies needed ASAP as i need to get it before friday if it will.

    Cheers

differant mounts on block but not a problem.
re map side is waste of time as that ecu and wiring wont go into the saxo, you'l need to use your wiring and sensors and ecu

Ahh just the man.. im guessing you know a bit about c2 engines..

So if i have a 3-plug ecu +loom already it should just drop straight in? what about the mounts? do you have to weld/drill different ones?

Also how much you reckon to bore it out to a 1.8?

The mounts just bolt on mate, the bare block (bottom end) is the same externally as your Saxo engine.

The pistons and rods are shite though so it does limit how far you can go tuning wise, but if your happy with it just being cammed alls good.

Fitting the Saxo manifold is really simple, but you do need to drill and tap a few holes for it or it wont seal properly.

You cant bore it out, the chambers are too thing, but you can get stroker kits so the throw of the pistons is longer. Theyre well over a grand though, closer to two if I remember correctly.

Whats your final aim for the engine, what level of tuning you heading for?

a lot is needed to put a jp4 into a saxo

and most of those will mean the map ect may be useless due to differences in throttle body inlet exhaust ect
there are a few threads on the subject relatively recent so a search for jp4 might pull up what you need

Decided not to go for it.. My VTS engines strong enough ATM and cba with it being off the road for longer now! Cheers for the info though lads. Might just cam this block when the 3-plug preds done!
