Mocal oil cooler

   I am thinking of fitting a mocal oil cooler to my vts, it has a raceland stainless manifold, I was just wondering if the cooler will fit due to this? And would be interested to see any pictures of a similar set up.

   Will be fine, the takeoff is no thicker than the standard water cooler

   Why are you wanting to fit a cooler?
   Would only fit a cooler on a track car doing heavy sessions or one running hi hp as i don't think there is a need on a standard car... Oh and if you do fit one cover it on cold winter days. Cold oil is just as bad as oil that's to hot.

   Always get a thermostat oil takeoff imo. Will take ages to get the engine upto running temp without it which will do more harm than good.

   Thank you for your advice, reason i am fitting an oil cooler is because when the car is driven hard, mainly on track, the oil temp. rises above the level it should be running at.
   Will def. get a thermostat for it then.
   Just to confirm, does the new cooler replace the standard water-oil cooler?

   agree on the cold comments i run mine with no thermostat (awaits the moaning) due to the fact it has a remote filter head and piping one in is going to be a pain
   all im doing for the winter is making an ali cover i can slide over the front so air cant flow through it
   and if im on track or going to be a tad enthusiastic for a while ill whip it off

   you can get push on oil thermostats for cheap you know alex

   yea i know
   but having a stat in mine stops oil through the fliter so im not having one

    see the ones id been linked to before were nothing like that lol
    may have to lob one in next time i change my oil lol mind where ill secure it i have no idea lol!
