1.1i engine

   I've got a 1.1i saxo I was driving earlier through the high street and my engine seemed to be making a whistling noise, I could hear this over my exhaust...what could it be? I know its a very small engine so I dont expect it to be making a deep roar or anything. Just bit imbarassing... I havent got an induction kit or anyting on it its standard, a possible solution?

   might be a vacuum leak. does it get louder as the revs get higher?. try wiggling pipes while the engine is runnig to see if you can find it.

   Yeah I spose it is a air leaky sort of sound. It does get louder as the revs go up. I'll have a look tomorrow, cheers m8
