    hey all
the last couple of days the car sounded like the exhaust was blown,
had it checked and the garage said it was internal,
the system is cat back and i have a new front pipe fitted,so was thinking it was the cat as the noise comes from the front when you accelarate, but
started it last night and the noise is coming from where the front pipe joins this

the metal thing on the engine block
im just wondering if anyone knows what it the noise could be and if it can be fixed
Cheers (sorry for pic was off my phone)

If its a rattling noise, its likely that one of the heatshield bolts is loose.

Take the shield off and try it, or tighten all of the bolts up.

its not a rattling noise,it sounds like something is blown as soon as you start the car??

In that case it may be that something has worked itself loose somewhere. Have you checked all the brackets and the clips to see if any of them have come loose and can be tightened?

Funnily enough i had a similar problem about a week after had a full system fitted, the noise sounded like it was from the new system it gradually got worse and sounded like i had a turbo fitted, anyway me thinkin the baffles in the exhaust had gone took it back only to find out that i had fitted a dud spark plug,it might not be connected and the sound it made didnt sound at all like it was running on a missed cylinder.

it was my front pipe as id thought all along,it fell off on the way home from work,it had come away from the weld,so will be claiming that under warranty at my work lol,the RAC guy secured it enough for me to get home, sounds like a proper wee rally car lol, very loud backfiring
