Saxo VTR Gear Linkage

  1. #1
    HI all,

I have just brought a 2001 vtr with 63000 miles but the gears are very floppy and very squeecky.. I was thinking bout changing it for a shirt/ quickshifter but ive read mixed reviews about it..

I was looking into changing the linkages also...would this stop the squeeking and floppy long throw that is has.. The car does not feel like a sports car with this crappy gearing.... Any helk would be greatt...

    Thanks

if u use a 106 1.3 rally linkage and tighted the middle linkage i used wire brings it very close ratio better than any quick shift never ha a problem with this top mod

How does a linkage effect the ratios inside the box??

Another common problem on the ma gearbox which causes a floppy shift is the roll pin in the rear selector this can wear and allow the linkage to move apart from the selector

the kam linkages dont have any rubber in them so they are a lot more solid feeling to shoft with

a lot of people have said they love them
i have a set on my car and they do feel good

but i have heard stories about them damaging the syncros in the box as there is no give in the linkage so it put smore stress on them

Floppy gear selector feel is probs the roll pin on the side to side selector on the actual box
