Well as some of you know, ive been spraying various items of my saxo for a while now, and as some will know ive just purchased a 1991 mini cooper.
I got a great deal on the car, mainly because it is 3 colours as it stands, gray primer, original red & purple.
I managed to pick up a second hand 115psi adjustable compressor, hose & spray gun. I am just debating now on how much car paint I am going to need to buy (for both my mini and my saxo). I was thinking about buying 5 liters & seeing how i get on, but i have noticed alot of paints claim to be bass coats or top coat & im struggling to suss out what I need.
Normaly (with can spray) i would key the old paint down, prime, key in 1200 grit, spray the color & lacquer. but ive never used 2 different paints 1 as the bass coat and one as a top coat. Im assuming this is to get colors such as cobalt blue - the color i was thinking about spraying the saxo, and candy red - the color i was thinking about spraying the mini.
Any help, tips advice would be hugely appreciated.
