loose gear stick

   hi ive checked all the linkages theyre all fine! noticed one of the arms off the gearbox that the linkages go onto was loose! but ive been told by my mechanic i need a new box if i want to solve the problem because the axel is sliding in and out the box like this!
   
   
   
   and replacing the pin wont do anything!

   hmmm I smell shite new roll pin needed? or did you check the gear selector th black rubbe ball might of popped off or the two wee rubber bushes at the bottom of the gear stick?

   yea my mechanic says because its moving in and out of the box it means the axel that it sits on is loose not the pin!
