#8im pretty sure you need to take the dash out to remove it properly.
-
#9
thats mad! stupid french.. is it hard to take the dash out?
-
#10nah its pretty easy. 3 bolts under the scuttle pannel. one in the side of each footwell. one behind the gearstick surround at the bottom. and one behind the middle dash air vent. but you have to unplug most of the cables. and dials and stuff.
-
#11hmm cant i leave everything pluged in? i only need to pull it out a little bit so i can slide the glove box down? or will it not move at all unless they are unpluged?
-
#12you can certainly give it a go. i tried before, undid all the screws and it didnt move when it was bolted in. but you will have to undo all the dash bolts, and you could probably angle it and jiggle it out, but i wouldnt like to be sure on that
lol.

#13lol ok ill give it a go lol
-
#14scuttle pannel?

#15i thought about putting my ipod connection into the glove box to keep it all out the way but if it takes that much effort then i think i won't bother and just leave the cable in the middle tray instead! what a stupid set up - thanks for the info though, saved me some time finding out myself

#16When i removed mine, i had to unplug two big connectors beneth the glovebox and it was a tight squeese to get it out the bottom and back in. I took it out beacuse i fitted a slimline ps2 which fits snugly in there. Hope it helps

#17Remove passenger seat, as you need to be able to lay down in the passenger footwell, under the 4 torx screws on each corner of the subframe, and unclip the airbag lead.
Remove the glovebox lid, 3 torx screws.
Pull off rubber stops on the front of the glove box (where the glovebox lid was resting), remove 4 torx screws iirc.
Looking up from the passenger footwell you should see a bolt connected from a lug on the underside of the glovebox to a panel of 2 or 3 large wiring loom connectors, remove this bolt.
Now tap the panel with the wiring loom connectors towards the centre console (to your left when laid in the footwell), should just slide out after a little persuasion from a hammer
Now its just a matter of pulling all the wiring about to make a gap big enough to wriggle the glovebox shell through
I think this is everything, its been a while since i removed mine and my dad did most of it whilst i watched lol
One thing to bear in mind is that you won't be able to re-fit the glovebox lid as it fixs into the glovebox shell iirc correctly.
Sorry for the essay, hope it helps
