which is best?

    hi...

was just wondering which is best for me to get?

    the raceland/simota style

    or

    the BMC style?

which is going to make the most noise?

which is going to be the better one for the westie performance wise?

I've got a BMC on my current car and with the cold air feed on it's no louder than the standard airbox, it revs alot easier however.

for bay looks go with the raceland. not to much difference in sound i wouldn't imagine tbh

raceland i have sounds the part looks class i would go 4 it

Tbh mate its an on going debate on here on which 1 is better to use. RR results show that standard with an uprated panel filter and good cold air feed is better than either of the above. Another air filter that gave good results was the K&N Gen 2.

If you just want noise get a pipercross and just put a cold air feed to it.

K&N generation 2 ftw, looks good, car feels responsive and always gets good results on RR's

yer i got a cone filter with a cold air now, and it sounds pretty nice. but i do want the pimp looking raceland... mainly cz every 1 on here told me that i will lose power with the piperx

You wont loose power if its got a cold air feed to it. The problem is with heat soak in the engine bay which is why there are heat guards and enclosed filters etc. But defo the better performance wise is the gen 2.

money is also an issue for me... so would probably look at which is cheaper aswel really.

i have found the raceland one for £70... so might be tempted for that!

i am guessing that this is what i need:

    http://www.kamracing.co.uk/manufactu...-vts-2093.html

there isnt one on there for the westie, but the engine bay is the same as the VTR so guessing that it will be ok for mine.

do i need to go for the more expensive cone aswel?
