Raceland Recliners??? Yay or Nay

  1. #1
Been looking into these but not entirely sure on quality etc

just wandering if anyone could share some light if they are good make or not and if so what would be better in black vtr, leatherette or alacantra?

    thanks
  2. #2
imo no, whats up with standard seats, seem to hug me fine
  3. #3
    another no here
there low budget not very comfy and look a bit crap in comparison to a higher end one
plus they never match the rest of the interior so look out of place

i beg to differ to the above comments tbh.

I have the black alcantara ones and find them VERY comfy!

Hug you a million times better than standard seats in the bends and recline all the way back

    here are mine

also take a look in Andy-Lee's progress thread HERE as he has the black leather ones.

I love mine, and for the price of them you can defo not complain

i agree with the above tbh

I have the black leatherette recliners and they seem to be fine,,seem alot better than my standard ones and look alot better than the clown interior i had,imo it looks smart and doesnt look bad with a GTI rear bench to be fair,,but thats just my opinion
  7. #7
unless you get all your interior retrimmed to match, it looks stupid imo

for the guys saying there good there really not compared to some high end recliners like i had though
ive seen and sat in racelands and compared to my omps they just seem like cheap tat

everyone who sat in my seats couldnt believe how comfy they were
i even had them in my lounge for a few weeks as they were comfier than my sofa
and they gave a very good amount of support (tbh they were as supportive as the shell seat im running now
and they were a lot lighter than the racelands as they werent steel framed like them so they save a tad of weight

however you would all simply say fuck that at the price tag over 1k for them without frames or harnesses ect

To try keep this less ASW and more keeping to the original point!

Raceland seats aren't a great quality and many people have had issues with the subframes in some cases people have reported they are plain unsafe, dunno if this is a design issue or a production issue.
You get what you pay for with seats really, can probably find a better used set of seats for about the same price if you shop around

From what ive seen of the racelands for the money you cant complain really. Ok the interior wont match but is that any worse than driving round with no door cards, carpet etc?

If your after cheap sporty seats then they will do a job but you could probably get better 2nd hand with a bit of digging
  11. #11
but most people drive around with no carpet etc becuase of the function over looks factor ron

as opposed to recliners being a stylish option?
  12. #12
True ash (i do it cos its cool as fap) but in terms of a pair of budget recliners, theyre fairly plain so should be ok (i forget some mentalists have interiors)

    Its a nay..........

    wasnt asw
was simply trying to show the difference in quality between cheap and higher end

if i was asw i would have put every pic i have of them up

I have had nor tried neither the raceland seats or Alex's OMP's but obviously the OMP's are going to be better. But are they going to be £850 better?

    Yes lol.
Depends if you can warrent spending that much tho...
  17. #17
they were literally worth every penny
literally cannot say a bad word about them
  18. #18
They looked mint, its just a case of can a person warrant that much on seats, most including myself cannot
  19. #19
OMP > Raceland's build quality but raceland is a fraction of the price. Its basically budget vs quality. Iv sat in raceland seats and for £200 a pop i thought they were very good.
Its exactly the same with the strut braces too. raceland are cheap copys but they work, but omp fit without any hassle ie moving the fuel cut off and look better but cost twice as much.

omp stuff fits like shit lol
  21. #21
i understand that paul as i cant warrant that much now either after all the crap and being unemployed (most people didnt want to pay second hand prices even though they were as new still)
but at the time i could so i had the best i could by
and tbh now nothing will compare in my eyes and a lot of the seats i see in cars look like cheap shit tbh
  22. #22
compared to raceland its like ying and yang.
  23. #23
yea but if you could you would and you know it
