power steering pump relocation

has anyone ever relocated their power steering pump? i dont no where i can move it too.

is their any places i could get new brackets made for it? i have a bit more room now that i have relocated my battery to the boot.

the bracket that the pupm is in now is made to bolt onto a corner but theirs no other corners i can move it to..

as its electric you can put the pump and bottle either in the boot or under the boot floor, its been done many times

as mentioned above fit it anywhere you will just need a fluid pipe running back to the rack

just remember tho if your going to put it in the boot, make sure the pipe connects are all ok and no damage on the pipes othawise the car inside will look like a blood bath if it leaks..

Exactly what i was thinking lol

and if that fluid gets in ur carpet it is gunna stink and u will end up needing a new carpet...

Unless you can get under the car you can run it along the chassis but u'll need to guard it well from any objects hitting it and bursting the pipe.

:O my engine will be in the boot soon lol ok my batery is in the boot anyway so all i will need to do is run one pipe for the fluid to the front?

doese it have to be a certain type of pope? or can i use a thick rubber pipe? ill probs get it braided aswell though...

lool yea will do man. think i will bolt it underneath where the spare wheel used to be.. if i get to u (horse shoe) type brackets made to go around the pump then bolt it to the floor of the boot and have the pipe where you fill it up poking through the boot

if gunna cut hole in the boot floor for the pipe to fit through but a rubber grommet arnd the pipe so that it doesnt rub on the floor and can burst the pipe..

why not mount it between the bumper and the radiator, theres a big ole gap there.

ive mounted my catch tank and PAS resivour there

i want to move my power steering pump so it gives space to run my boost pipes around the outsde and through where the pump was... then the old hole i will rin my pipes for the oil cooler. will give me more room for a diesel rad and a vts fan

this is why i cant put nothing els in the front...

lol yea i will seal the cut metal

putting mine and a few other things in boot and other places, may put mine oil cooler in the wing with a feed too
  21. #21
Put it in the boot, or make some brackets an put it where you spare wheel used to go...
  22. #22
get rid it weighs a tonn just use arm powered steering
  23. #23
haha it does weigh alot. driving with no pas its soo annoying plus i woild be a skinny guy with the biigest arms! i gave that up when i got rid of my first car..

relocation is done! i had a spare power steering pump bracket so got the weilded to the inside of my arch where the battery used to be. will be geting my custom boost pipes on the 22nd if the place is open and have my old cituning boost pipes and hoses up for sale

will then be able to fit a aluminium diesel rad.. anyone know it the diesel rad will be a straight raplacement for my old vtr one?
