Smoke after oil change

Just had my c2 serviced oil filters ect....

just picked it up drove it round the corner checked the oil and there was nothing on the dipstick!! so i took it back and he put some more oil in and said it could be because your on a angle on the road .

now ive just drove home and he has put to much in it over the max by a bit.

and there is smoke coming from the engine and im assuming this is spilt oil??

if it is whats the chances of it catching fire and how can i stop it smoking?

    thanks gaz

how much over filled was it?

Sounds like a good garage lol.

Smoke will generally stop when it cools, if its on a wrapped manifold it can be a pain though.

how much over max is it?
i remember a fella who over filled his oil then gave it a good ragging, which fucked up his crank bearings

the oil should just burn off tbh. always spill oil about the engine bay

The spilt oil will burn off, won't catch fire.

And as for the oil level it should be half way between the min and max, if it is on the max it's alright but I'd let a tad out if I was you.

If you have a standard oil breather ie goes to the intake then oil can sometimes be circulated through your inlet which = smoke

shouldnt be half way through min and max, it should be at max level, and then checked about every week or so depending on the car
