Saxo VTR Springs

  1. #1
    Hi guys,

In my haste I have just brought some gmax saxo lowering (30mm) springs for my 2001 VTR. These springs were fitted to a saxo 1.1 or 1.4.. My question is will they fit my vtr or not....

If not does anybody want them for £20..

    Thanks

    Nein. No. Non.

    Same size, different spring rates

    standard spring rates = 105lbs
    vtr / s = 115lbs

I just been on the phone to Citroen for a quote to lower the rear torsion bar and the guys there stated that they dont do this work as this causes the rear axle to mess up over time.. Has anyone had this issue.?

    thx

I oonly want to lower it by bout 30/35mm. brought the car for my mrs and its all over the place in the rain it feels too light so the plan was to lower it and stick some 15" to give it bit more grip.. the tyres on the car stil have good tread at the moment so i can say its the tyres need changing.. so u think citroen chatting shit.?

theres two ways to lower the rear of a saxo

clicks (easy method) but wrong and will wreck your rear beam

the proper method - take the bars out adjust the ride height, but the bars back in

where are you based? there are a few decent guys from this site that do it cheaper (and do it the proper way)

depends on the citroen garage though. not all are the same

the citroen garage near me wouldnt even order me in some wheel bolts!

thank the lord for puegeot tbh. they got some gti bolts, we realised the werent the same, so they sent the guy straight back for another 50 miles round trip just for 4 bolts!

    customer service or what?!?

main agents don't touch modifications such as lowering due to the implication that the company represent (ie citroen) didn't build them right in the first place, also the insurance issues if something was to go wrong by deviating from standard and they get the ass sued off them. there are some really well known mods to improve land rover tdi's that i have been doing for years that improve performance and reliability with no problems, they were well known when i worked for a land rover main agent and there was no way on earth they'd let us carry them out even though it'd have solved many a problem car.
