Difference in VTR BHP ?

    i was under the impression that mine was a 90bhp, but my lecturer at college said since mine had a silver rocker cover it was a 96bhp model? black tops being 90 and not sure for the 98bhp models

    was just wondering if anyone could tell me what the crack is lol, im pretty confused.

    mk1 VTR= 90bhp

    There is no 96bhp model mate.

    Only 90bhp and 98bhp

    Silver = 90bhp
    Black = 98bhp

    90bhp are normally on or before the year 2000. And 98bhp after.

    Single Plug ECU = 90bhp

    Triple Plug ECU = 98bhp

    so on the black top engine there is no cat? or is it below the car?

    cat is under the car mate, black top is the better 8v tuning engine imo, partly because it can borrow parts from the rallye xsi ect

    theres a silvertop 90bhp engine. number of plugs in the ecu is the easiest way to tell, 1 big one and its 90bhp 3 smaller ones and its 98bhp

    the 98bhp engine is from march 2001 onwards mate

    theres quite a noticbale difference between the mk1 and mk2 vtr's as i have driven both the mk2 pulls a lot more
