    Hey,

Finished my little project on fitting a double din unit in my dash. It was a bit of a squeeze though. It worked out alright, not the best job though but didn't have that much time to wrap it all up but it's in Got myself a complete dash as well from the scrappys so depending on how much time I've got I'm gonna start building a fully customised dash

Impressive, i thought about it but nevver thought there was enough space behind, any issues with that? LHD?

yup lhd, based in Holland mate, even when I lived in Glasgow I drove lhd cars, just couldn't get used to rhd

There is enough room for cables behind the unit. The only problem (only in case you want to keep your vent working) is the vent funnell. I wanted to keep it so had to cut it up and make it go up really steep. That's why I extended the front of the console a wee bit as well. So if you're not bothered about the vent you can just close it off and the unit will fit easily.

I'm not sure what I'm gonna do with it but when I was googling double din units I came across this link:

    http://www.talkaudio.co.uk/vbb/showthread.php?t=236662

Custom built pc in a saxo with a small touchscreen in the dash and the pc in the boot. Satnav, carkit, radio controlled by the pc. What I was thinking of is doing something similar but instead of a normal pc in the boot and the small touchscreen use a touchscreen laptop. I've got an 12.1 inch hp tablet pc here which I don't use anymore.

Now I wanna see if I can fit it in like in the picture but lengthwise and use that as a unit. Split the screen in 2 parts, so I can have 2 windows at the same time, top dvd/stereo and bottom satnav or something like that.

Gonna look into this to see if it's possible and then draw up something
