help think my saxo needs a new head gasket....

    help i think i need a new head gasket,

    i was at work when i realised the rad in my saxo was gone... i replaced this and then driving about tonight it seemed to be fine i left home again and it started to run really lumpy and when idling it seems to splutter i do have a staright through exhaust but ive had this for a few months now and its never been like this before

    please help,

    p.s when im driving i can hear a running water sound near my pedals i think this might be air in my system but it was flushed proffesionally earlyer today.

    does the car over heat mate ?

    have you checked under the rad cap and the oild cap for any thing looking like mayonaise l?

    Is your oil creamy? Do you have oil in your Rad?

    The water sound is the water going around the system after you've flushed and filled your rad, drive it for about 5mins then top the rad up to the max mark. Then check to see if the water goes down after about a day or so of driving, if it dosen't go down and your oil isn't creamy you don't need a new head gasket

    is the heater blowing hot? if you have an air lock in the system(quite possible after rad replacement) you'll get the gurgling sound from behind the dash, try bleeding the system though this wouldn't cause the spluttering but that could be an un-related problem altogether, as stated before is there any sign of oil/water mixing?
