Quick Nitrous Question

  1. #1
Im investigating buying a nitrous set in the new year, 25bhp jets just to start me off.

Ive done a lot of research on WON and other suppliers in the UK, one thing is im not sure of the theory of how the fuel side of it works.

From looking at others setups (basically) you have two solenoids, one which leads to the inlet, supplying No2, activated by either a microswitch on the TB or under the accelerator. does the other one connect to the fuel line somehow? does this push no2 into the fuel?

Can someone please explain how the required increase in fuel delivery works?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

i think it adds the extra fuel needed when the nos is injected

i thought it didnt use more fuel it uses the normal fuel and burns the nos when injected which burns quicker giving you the quick boost?

two solenoids, 1 for n2o 1 for fuel,
the fuel solenoid is connected to the fuel line via a t piece, which supplys the solenoid seperatley to the n2o.
the jets are how you get the extra.
the fuel tends to be half the size jet of the n2o.
    say a 100 jet for 50bhp n2o, to a 50 jet fuel.
dependant on bottle pressure and other things, (check with supplier of kit for jet sizes needed)

Ok, i was going to ask another question but managed to answer it myself on WON's website - the crossfire injector.

This however confuses me - can you buy them with set no2/fuel ratios?

What i mean is from the data ive found and above (thanks mate) i need to have fuel injected at half the amount of the nitrous - so is this managed by the solenoids or simply the diameter of the injector?

its measured by the jets m8, the jets can be swapped at anytime, various size jets for different bhp settings

sweet thanks mate. ive been looking on here all night - but i cant find anyone who has had any problems with a vtr.

im just a bit wary of plumbing anything in of this nature onto a standard 8v. obviously id make the standard checks, headbolts, belts etc but it it really sensible to fit it to a vtr engine?

as long as you dont go to silly it will be fine m8,

so 50 shot nitrous and 25 shot fuel should be ok? is this proven?

id probably and up with 25 shot injector anyway to start her off.

    thats my limit like.

start with a 25 shot and work up with5 bhp shots till ur happy, 50 shot on standard clutch might not hold out, altho not sure on the r as i have n2o on my cammed s, however if u ask a guy on here called dusher he is currently running with vtr.
