top and botom play at steering wheel

   i have a 2000 reg vts the steering wheel has about 5cm of play at the top and bottom of the steering wheel any ideas of what could cause this ???????????

   Take off the top & bottom steering column (plastic shrouds)t20 torx bit look underneath the steering column & tighten the 3 bolts on the flange plate.

   if its not what ^^^ stevo67 said its normally the column bushes and you cant get just the busy got change the entire column
