was looking where to run intercooler pipes today and im thinking of ditching the power steering!

would i fuck up my steering if i just undone all the power steering pipes and took the pump off

so its a PS rack just no fluids going to it etc or would i be ok?

    Put it in the boot!

Or if you've got no back seats or carpet in put it behind the passanger seat

Ive also seen it reloacted under the boot floor...

i took mine off my 106
just took the pipes off emptied the rack of fluid and put 2 grub screws in the holes

was heavy to park but when driving it wasnt too bad

when my power steering was fucked i got used to it then i got it fixed and it feels strange, i think i prefered it ithout power steering as you feel the road more and feel more in control imo

Powersteering all the way, i took my PS off thinking that as i use my car for motorsport it would give me more feel of the road as all the myths suggest, this is simply not true you gain nothing but loose light steering, the only thing is on the short twisty stuff we come across i used to catch the fluid up int he rack without PS i dont, and i now have an AX Gt rack on now which is a cheap Quickrack for the 106's but hard to find. and i will be putting Corsa C electrical powersteering on this

should have left the holes unblocked so there was no pressure.

Also if you insist on doing it, take the ram off the rack!!! lol.

i have put my battery in the boot so i have alot of room their. to save trouble i might just spray the barcket and power steering pump then get the bracket welded to the body where the battery used to be.. what do you think?
  14. #14
lol could do mate, your car, your choice
  15. #15
done! i had a spare power steering pump bracket so got the weilded to the inside of my arch where the battery used to be. will be geting my custom boost pipes on the 22nd if the place is open and have my old cituning boost pipes and hoses up for sale

will then be able to fit a aluminium diesel rad.. anyone know it the diesel rad will be a straight raplacement for my old vtr one?

    cool mate!

i got my oil cooler today but may get new braided lines for it, waiting on my gauges now (afr, boost + oil pres)

just looking at some boost pipes
  19. #19
aah cool. yea best to get new ones. one of mine burst the other month so had to get a new one saves you having any trouble with it any time soon.. my car is off the road just need to get my wideband afr, water temp and oil temp guages.

are you running fith injector? do you have the elbow to fit the fith injector and map sensor?

my custom stainless steeel boost pipes will cost £200!! expensive!! but air flow will be at its best and will only have joints at turbo intercooler and inlet

think i got a elbow sourced but not 100% atm mate
  21. #21
ok. im going to call cituning and find out how much they sell their elbow for then see how much i can get for mine.

you mean the whole inlet pipe mate?
