is it possble

to drop a 2.0 16v clio sport engine in a VT*? or would the engine bay be too small for it?

i know people say that any thing over a 1.6 16v is too big and would handle like pish but just look at the clio williams.

any engine will fit any car if you've got the money...

basicly as you said it would screw the handling up and it's easier, cheaper and you get more power if you just turbo it or super charge it!! or even get both...

yeah but the williams is about the same size as a saxo and that was a 2.0 beast.

a turbo'd 2.0 saxo wud be mental it would take off lol

yea i kno what you mean a 2litre turbo saxo would be mental but my point is you'll be better off getting a turbo'd vts unless you've go £10,000 + to throw at the car!!!!!!!

problem is saxo gearboxes are not capable of that power therefore making it pretty pointless

thinking about it i have seen a post on here before where a french bloke got a standard vtr shell which has a 2litre turbo engine from a pug 806 dropped in

If you have the money, anything is possible.

most common one i hear of is a 2.0l calibra transplant. doesnt require as much work as anything else apparently. only problem ive heard is that the engines are not as reliable as the saxo ones. but they will fly!

do you have that sort of money to spend on one,cos that would be nice to see

Never heard of a calibra lump in a saxo????
  11. #11
the 2.0l turbo lump is the same as the mi only 8v so its a 2.0l 8v turbo and is a common transplant for the 205 (like the MI lump) Why put a 2.0l 16v engine in that gives 167bhp (or the clio one when the saxo is only a little bit lighter and the vts engine keeps up with the clio until high revs) for say 5k when you can charge the vts engine giving 200+ at the wheels for that and it will murder most high end cars. Putting a heavier engine in will screw the handling due to the weight, and remember any car that has the 2.0l (clio, xsara etc) has a differnet shell and has been DESIGNED to take that engine ie suspension etc.

great pub talk stuff but pointless in the real world, however the amount of people that actually bring up this crap and do it is almost none! Go read max power.

how old do you think i am 16? i was only asking a question i just thought that maybe it would be possible, but as ratty explain the car isnt designed for a 2litre engine so it wudnt be the best idea.

and like you wouldnt do it if it was possible and you were minted

well when i win the lottery im going to try and put a subaru 2ltr turbo engine in a saxo and whilst im at it fit the 4 wheel drive system too . . .

    *foams at the mouth*
  20. #20
im just gunna get a jet engine conversion lol
  21. #21
well that would defo make it that fasted saxo, cornering could be a problem though

saxo26 never bought the mag in my life, not saying the cars are not good that they put in it,and thyats not where i got the idea from, got the idea from been on the forums mate.
patrik no i would not put a major conversion in if i won the lottery i would just go buy a fast car for the sort of money you would spend
