So the garage don't know how to read their own diag equipment? Your mate should be geting a refund...

Seem to me like this could be saying it's misfiring on these cylinders, which is all of them in seeminly no order, so I'd assume that rules fueling out, leaivng electrics. Also assumng that the new coilpack and new ecu are both working fine, I'm out of ideas.

no one has swapped over the spark plug leads have they by mistake they should read

    1 3
    4 2
i think when you look at the coil pack

by that i mean the top right plug on the coil pack goes to the sparkplug nearest the coilpack being one, and the farthest away being 4 so match the coilpack connectors to the sparkplugs correctly using the leads,

if that does explain it, its because i am well and truly retarded in explaining what i am thinking!

the numbers you were told dont seem to make any sense in reference to the firing order of your car, AS it is only possible for one side of the coilpack to fire without the other side, they do not fire individualy, the 106 runs a wasted spark system.
this means that if it runs correctly on its furst time, it should run correctly on the second cycle, becasue the eCU only switches the earth from one side of the coil to the other.

if the spark leads and spark plugs and coil pack connectors arnt all connected to the wrong things i dont know what sup.
