what do you think would win a race out of a 97 vts with s/steel exhaust, 4-1 manifold, induction kit, chipped by superchips, mapped, short shift, uprated pistons or a standard civic 1.6 vti coupe on a 96 plate which is standard apart from big noisy back box and induction?
what do you thinks faster?

#2post man pat

#3lol...
-
#4well obv the vts
-
#5more than likely the civic.
what are uprated pistons doing lol ? -
#7whats the 0-60 on them both?
iirc they are incredibly close, well thats for the hatch back, dare say coupe weighs more than hatch back -
#9why people asking for standard 0-60 times the vts obv isnt standard and its had a lot of work and money spent on it plus its lighter
-
#10think the civics 157 bhp, when new. Would be close, take your backseats out etc and you should be faster aslong as you can drive normally.
-
#11it has breathing mods good for what 5bhp?
-
#13who cares ??
saxo will be more fun on a track
-
#14your post reminds me the vts has a boot full of stereo so got a bit of weight in the back but if anything i found it sticks to the road much better and dont feel so twitchy
-
#16street racing is soooo cool.......
-
#17go to a drag stip and find out then ?Quote:me thats why i asked my mate owns the civ im in the vts but the fanny says ill whoop you but wont race me i think the vts is quicker but i reckon it would be close
i could say that the vts is faster easily. But it means nothing unless you try it...... -
#18i want to but my mate dont wanna "thrash" his car lol wanna go do that run what you brung will have to just say im faster until you prove it and race me
-
#20Vtech is SLOWWWW, you will have gone before his VTECH kicks in np, also
Street racing threads are gay, if you think your a fast driver and want to race people Go and get involved in motorsport, www.gomotorsport.co.uk -
#21has everyone just ignored alex's post? case/thread closed imoQuote:they will be lower compression then and ruining any power on an n/a setup
so youll loose tbh
like he said if it was being turbo prepped it would be running low comp pistons, and maybe even a thicker head gasket/decomp plate
vts would = turd -

#23The VTS
But "chipped" and "mapped" why write both?
And why Pistons please
-
#24Clearly wont have these 'mods' lol. Just the guy selling it blagging a bit extra onto the price.Quote:The VTS
But "chipped" and "mapped" why write both?
And why Pistons please
and they clearly aren't the best mods. Low comp pistons with no turbo.. yeah i see logic in that! 'Superchipped'? so basically just overfueling
Civic will be standard, therefore set-up perfect = winnar
-
#25ide say the civic
-
#28as per several posts youve ignored
your car will be running fuck all power
the compression will be too low and the fueling all over the place
tbh i think youve been mugged over as if someone was prepping for a turbo they would do a lot more than just pistons and a chip would be suprised if it had them in it tbh -
#29civic would win im afraid even if its standard the b16 engine is so much better than the citroen equiv
-
#30You can change the eproms "the chip" and then you alter the "map" on that "chip".Quote:The VTS
But "chipped" and "mapped" why write both?
And why Pistons please
Some places cant map the standard ECU live hence "chipping" the ecu.
So no they are not the same thing like you said above
-
#31All jokes a side about the mods, a healthy vts with decent breathing mods will be quicker than a stock vti
-
#34noticed this and wondered why no one had commented yet lmao, also, not to say the poster doesnt own but all the cars some ppl have in there profiles and then just a pic of the sax, how many ppl lie about the cars they own, pitiful
