brake upgrade

thinking of upgrading the brakes on my vts
    1) only looking at 266mm as this will be ample for me what is the cheapest option regarding seconhand parts ??
ive read the 206 gti or the berlingo brakes fit or some posts say certain 306 or 405's
what model of the 306 or 405's fit ???

and also if mine has abs obviously replacement calipers will need to be compatible ??
    cheers

    306 GTI-6 are 283mm

405 coupes are Brembo's can't remember disk size or number of pots though.

266mm are good for fast road/light track if you want anything more than that, your best off going for 4 pots, Wilwoods are quite popular, or Hi-Spec.

266mm set-ups (and GTI-6 iirc) need a little bit of grinding to fit them in but if you search theres loads of info kicking around about brake upgrades

Also try the FAQ's at the top of the page theres a few brake guides in there iirc.

    266 fits under 14inch wheels
    283 fit under 15inch wheels
266 are cheaper to buy and get discs and pads for
306 hdi, berlingo vans, 206 gti have the calipers off the top of my head

depends entirely on if he has a mark2 though

mark1s came with vtr rims on the s
so 14s and 283s wont fit then
