Whining/Whirring Noise

   Hi, got a bad whining or whirring noise. The pitch of the noise changes when I use the windows, especially if I try to close the window when it's fully closed, or when I move the steering wheel... Any ideas?
   
   On another note, my car makes a clicking noise after I turn the ignition off, anyone know what that is? Thanks.

   Makes it when electric is used by sounds of it, maybe alternator.

   sounds like you have a wiring fault, probably a bad earth, check the earthing points behind the carpet under the dash. The clicking could be a relay?

   Thanks, I suspected alternator based on something I'd read previously, but I will check earths too.
