Noob Qu.. But what are Thortle Bodies?

    As above, could somone explain what throtle bodies are/do? and how easy are they to fit? Looking at Willis thread and the car looks amazing but also the bodies looked intresting and i want to expand my knoledge.

    Basically they scrap the airbox and throttle body/intake manifold and just put the open trumpets that you sometimes see onto the intake ports. Causing hardly no restriction and allowing the engine to get a lot more air.

    They are often coupled with lairy cams as they use a lot more fuel thus needing more air to get the correct ratio, and the TBs give you that air and let you run a lairy cam.

    silly question but does that mean no need for a induction kit?

    Correct

    Although sometimes they put a filter over the top of the trumpets.

    you should use some form of filter or you will pull endless amounts of rubbish through. Just light bits of dust will slowly wear away your engine

    I know that, i was using the term "open trumpets" to say that there isnt a intake or airbox.

    Unless you get a long air filter over them which most people dont.
