from mk1 to mk2

   hi guys just wanted to know if anyone knows how hard it would be to convert a mk1 to a mk2 and if it was possible?
   
   if so what so of parts are needed?
   
   slam panel
   bonnet
   front wings?
   
   would be very greatful if anyone could shed some light on this?

   Hi mate,
   a quick search should bring up everything you need to know. It's been covered numerous times before.
   
   Off the top off my head,
   bonnet
   headlights
   slam panel
   wings....
   
   
   God knows why you'd want to chane though ;-)

   lol cheers mate i knew someone would say that about searching but didn't know how common it was to change mk1 to mk2 so thought i would ask myself.
   
   just fancy a change i guess and the bonnet looks ugly on mk1.
   
   wht does everyone else think?

   MK2 looks much nicer mate. Its definately worth converting.

   Yer might be a while before I start it thou getting all sorts of quotes for the parts in need to do it now. Might just buy bits as and when they are available.

   Yeah mate. You can probably get parts on ebay cheaper than anywhere else or maybe at a scrap yard. Anyway, good luck with the conversion mate, upload some pictures of the progress if you can.

   Yea I will do gonna go to my local scrappy 2moz to see if there is any silver mk2 saxo or any parts I can use.
   
   Has any one fitted a mk2 slam panel and it was hard to change?

   Mk1 looks much nicer.. Ditch the chrome lights, get black angels, then mesh the grille, makes the front end look that much better.

   as in every thread on this you need to cut the front of the chassis to do it
   
   the mark 1 has a longer inner wing structure and the mark 2 slam panel wont fit withoug cutting it

    also most people would be put of by a t reg with a mk2 front when you came to sell it. they would just think it had had front end damage

    not unless you tell them its been updated to a mk2
    
    mk1's look good with angel eyes but look way to dated for my taste i prefer mk2
    cause then it dosent look in the 90's
    
    
    and is got more power (VTR)
    and less tax lmao (VTR)
    and a sleeker spoiler not a shopping trolley handle
    
    but do you just want to change the fornt end or do you want the spoiler aswell to fully pull the look off?
    
    but mate its your car if you fancy a newer looking front end then by al means go for it

    think i might change my mind on this idea and just stick to working on the engine cams ect.

    i wanted the black one but got these angels for £25 so cant complain rele and as for the mesh i don't know if im keen on tht.
    
    should of made a progess thread and then people could of gave me ideas on what to do next thou.
