  21. #21
    ^^ i thought that.

    must be a charger!

id like to see some pictures of this sat along side of the standard one if possible.
  22. #22
    yeah he'll mean supercharging surely
  23. #23

Would of been the Fail of the year. lol

    lol
  27. #27
I swear people forget that boost means boost not turbo.

A supercharger comes into the same catagory
  28. #28
yeah but when people say boosting normally means turboing and charging as in supercharger! well it might just be dumb me but when he said that i toke it he meant turbo and i thought wrong mani but then it came clearer ! like i say it might just be me!

I must admit these days when people mention boost i automatically think "turbo" due to all the 'turbo-projects' that are going on atm.

I know it means supercharge aswell, but not many people supercharge their saxo's these days, most of the time its more expensive. However definately better than turbo'ing imo. Majority of saxo owners don't have thousands to spend on their saxos.

Imagine the Fail if he was going turbo
  30. #30
i knew he was supercharging when he mentioned boost as well as buying a btb!

im buying a btb for my supercharged vts

I'm either looking at a GMC 4-1 or a Piper 4-1 ready for my Jp4 head, and when i get tb's

I would have thought that the BTB manifolds were indeed made by BTB

I thought BTB made the original ones, then piper start making them after BTB stopped.

Am sure Ryan will correct me if am wrong
  37. #37
There have certainly been people buying the BTB & recieving a manifold with the piper badge stamped on it in the past.
  38. #38
when I emailed gmc about one a wee while back. I asked about there 16v mani and I got the reply saying there 16v mani was being made by btb and would be available to buy soon. So I take it from that the piper is different.
  39. #39
    i have a piper
its a bit different the the btb i compared to (finchys) but essentially they are similar but iirc the btb has a larger collector

Hasn't it only been larger in the last year or so? Didn't they increase the size so it was bigger then the previous one.

TBH looking at the pics they look both the same.
  41. #41
ive only had mine nearly 2 years and from back when i bought it i read the btb was bigger

the branches actually run differently lookng at mine and finchys
  42. #42
Yeah i mean it was the bigger on, but am sure they made the collector even bigger to what it was back then.
  43. #43
    not sure then tbh man
  44. #44
looks like the pipes run differently going by the pic on pipers website:

  45. #45
Looks like an excellent quality manifold - would definitely be my choice if money were no object.
  46. #46
    I tell a lie

Primaries are shorter on piper then a BTB, which will move the 'tuned' rpm higher up the range

Collector on Piper is 2inch and the BTB is 2.5 inch

whats the clearance like on this compared to standard? i want one but dont wanna wreck it. i'd love a full btb system to go with a set of bodies (which im 90"% set on doing in summer after ibiza!)

THE Piper one is gonna sit higer up mate, the BTB always hung low so it can catch a little depending on how low your car is, nowt to worry about, I had 50mm on the front only ever caught on mega bummy roads

BTB is the brand name, hence why they were BTB manifolds and exhausts and not piper. If Gmc sent out piper exhaust manifolds advertising them as BTB ones I doubt BTB would be to happy about it

    This is true

After having 3 btb's the piper does look a nice bit of kit! I could be converted if i still owned a pug/cit

so is it worth that extra bit of money to get a BTB over a piper? I'm going to be buying one soon and this thread has confuzzeled me now. Just the piper and the "tuned" rpm bit has put me off it.
  53. #53
I cant really say anything about the Piper never owned one, But I've had 3 BTB's and never been disappointed.

    its neglegable tbh
with cams ect comparing to dans vts when he had it (r7 vts) figures and where wise there wasnt much difference (btb on 708s 153 at 6600 piper and ph3 152 at 6800)
but on stock cams it was very high like

i know there are other variables ect in it all but tbh i doubt most would notice the differnce
  55. #55
I love my BTB (exhaust and mani), Bodies make up the mid range, btb adds onto the top end
  56. #56
    i think i should invest in a 4-1
  57. #57
Mine pops and bangs like fook Bwwwaaarrrpppppp bang bang bang bbwwaaarrrpppp Lol
