help torsion bar snapped!

    hi all. I was on my way home lastnight and i heard a big thud and my car droped on one side. Jacked it up today and the torsion bar is really loose. Its the one nearest the rear bumper. Can anyone tell me what may have broken? Ive only lowered it 60mm and its been fine for the last 4 months.

    sounds like the bolts and washers that hold the torsion bar in have come off.

    Ive checked that mate. Could it be the splines rounded off? Or could the torsion bar snap?

    I'd very much doubt that the torsion bar would snap - it's a big chunk of metal !!

    Splines could have rounded, but again I'd very much doubt it!

    Maybe the company that lowered the car didn't put the off-centre washers back in?

    I'd phone them up, tell then whats happened and demand they sort it out as it's dangerous and coul've caused an accident etc.

    all i couldnt think is the bar has popped out causing it to drop.
    Like raunchz says i doubt the bar would snap. Would take a serious impact to snap one.
