Lower Strut Brace

#260 will be very tight, but some speedbumps will be different to others.
-
#3I'm in the same boat as you with my GTI being 60mm lowered, but wanting a strut brace.
Don't want to fork out if it's going to be wasted.
Andy -
#4a saxo shouldnt be lowered 60 IMO unless its for a track.
but a strut brace is like £30 so not much to lose anyway -
#5What about a 106? Mine looks good that lowQuote:a saxo shouldnt be lowered 60 IMO unless its for a track.

Handles like it's on rails too
But you say it's just £30. It could end up being my front suspension and underside of my car too if it catches lol.

#6The sparco one gives a little more clearance than the omp one if that helps.
-
#7cool thanks for the info guys. i wanted my car 60mm weather it was goin on a track or not its just how i like it and wouldnt go any other way. and rob ill have a look for a sparco one
-
#8Why shouldnt it be lowered 60mm if its not going on track
best for handling was about 40mm i thought?
-
#9stupidest comment ever for highs and handeling
60 is too low to handle well
35 is more like it
look at 90% of the actual cars tha get used on track on here

jpsaxo
all are about 30-40mm down at the max -
#10I did think he was talking out his backside abit.
-
#11lol
to add and go back on topic
my 106 was 70ish down on coilovers with an omp
it basically sat on the floor -
#12I had one on mine and Im down 40mm, I took it of cause it was a nightmare it kept catching on everything.
They are easy to get on and off so I just put mine on for the track. -
#13cool yeah, well there not to much so i can always try and and if worst comes to worst take it off and sell it.
-
#14i took mine off today ill get some pics up of it..... was a little bit fucked, mine was a omp one
-
#16Not a lot tbh, I'd guess 5mm
-
#17basically if your down 60mm you have already ruined the handling dont waste your money on strut braces.
-
#18mines dropped 40mm and it still caught alot.... 60mm you will be screwed
-
#19im 35mm and now and again i catch on various things, depends how hard im driving on what sort of road.
70mph on the m25 there are a few bumps which ive hit and nearly been sent into the barrier -
#20fuck that ive never had that, mines just un made roads and crossing the bridge over the circuite at brands left a nice dent + a fox haha
-
#2260mm i found understeered loads!
35mm the car just feels more balanced, turns in better in my experience -
#23mt vts is down 60mm mayb more its just for looks the car does nt feel that plannted and does understeer a lot when funds allow im going to go up to bout 30-40mm so can enjoy the car down lanes
-
#24good idea
-
#26it will still catch but should be fine most the time. speedbumps and pot holes are dangerous though
-
#27hmm i got speed bumps right out side my place its a pain now as it scrapes as it is need to get a superspirt race tube to get ride of the silincer as thats whats cacthing
-
#28Is anyone doing a black lower brace? i hate the red

lol @the 60mm comment
-
#29i will £300 delivered
excuse the brush strokes
-
#30mine never used to get caught on speed bumps cos its level with the front wheels, pot holes where a killer, where mine got bent the exhaust touched it aswell
-
#31
-
#32looks nice and abused whats your set up?Quote:
-
#33thats dropped 40mm all round, ye i duno where i got the big dent haha the small one is from a fox
-
#35calm down dear
-
#36....again, who makes them in black?
-
#37I have an anthracite lower brace PD!
-
#39Yeah the OMP one, i've seen those, i like how they up the price by £25 because it's anthracite...
I've seen someone with a "Caged" on in black? Do they make them or is it just some sticker on one the cunt has painted himself? -
#40wow your polite
-
#41This is the tech section, not the general chat shite, keep the jokes for elsewhere

Pauly i paid about £35 for mine new when they were on special offer!
Why not just buy a red one and paint it yourself?
-
#42It's "you're" you retard, can you go and be bored in another thread plaese? You're of no use to this what so ever you little e-tinker.
Aye, you can get them most places in red for £30 now, i suppose it's the only option, i'd have to get it shot blasted though. They use a sort of self curing paint on them though so it's like a rubber compound, it's a nightmare to sand.Quote:This is the tech section, not the general chat shite, keep the jokes for elsewhere

#44Is it in the members section? I can't view it, i let my membership go after i flogged the rallyE....
-
#45Yeah, members only, although it seems they don't list the grey one on 106 parts any more, where the discount code took the price down... Just PM Yates and tell him he's taking the piss with the price and that you want it for £42 lol
-
#46Lol, as blunt as that. It's gotta be black man, anything else just won't do
-
#47quick question.... why dont you spray a red one black??
-
#48just saw you got asked that haha sorry
-
#49Because then it's pikey!
-
#50noones guna know really, the only thing that knew i had one was the fox i hit lol
