mot time.... emissions

   i will be putin my vtr turbo in for its mot in 2 weeks. think everything is ok apart from the emissions.. i have a custom 2.1/4" exhaust straight off the turbo with no cats just a back box.
   
   i was told that the turbo wont effect the emissions and a friend of mine said to take the exhaist off put a sock or something across it and do it back up, take it for mot then take it straight off when its done.. dosent sound to safe to me but does it work?

   get a standard exhaust system with cat in the exhaust. and just take it off after MOT

   Take 2 crates of beer down to the garage with you as a thank your present, cost you 15 quid or something and i guarentee "meh - there only a little over the limit, il let you off"

   Got a supersprint 4-2-1 and straight through back and the guy said he will pass it lol.

   stick one of those bottles of redex injector cleaner into a 1/4 tank of fuel. Also just swap over exhausts

   ok its a bit hard to swap over a exhaust. a standard exhaust will not fit on to my turbo. otherwise i would have done it in the first place. i will give the red ex a try but dont think that will do it. hmm i can try having a word with the mot tester b4 i book it in and see if he passes it...

   find a man who can, and ffs a sock? you need some brighter mates my friend, may get away with a standard exhaust like but as you said it doesnt fit so you need a dude who will

   lool yea a sock. i wont lie i would have tried it it i didnt have a turbo :| ill just offer the guy a bit of extra cash he might be ok with it. its the only way!

    Just ask them not to do an Emissions test because it won't pass, worked for me a few times now

    my emissions where to high so the mot tester said. i didnt ask him or tell him it was goin to be! he just told me it was to high and passed it no problem he said it was expected because the exhuast was to big! just have a word with the tester he might pass it with no worries! if not a few extra quid straight to the pocket most mechanics accept that as a thank you !

    i MOT . . . ive had random people say to me, ill buy you a crate of larger if you pass it...
    its not worth my job... could be VOSA tester for all i know.
    
    be honest, say look... alot fo ahrd work has gone into this to make it turbo and such, but i dont think its going to pass the emissions... any chance ?
    
    tbh, id have another car there warming up.

    i had my mot done last week.
    if failed on Emissions and a blowing exhaust, so i sorted the blowing and sent it back,. it failed again on the fast idle emissions was told the lamba sensor was gone, so went to go get that replaced by a citroen specialist near me and he said there wasnt anything wrong with it..so took it back to the mot centre and it still went to red on the fast idle
    so my mot guy hardly pressed the go fast pedal so thew screen went green and kept it there for the 30 odd secs they need it to so it could pass the test
