1400 8v furio power gains

    ok i have a 1400 8v furio. is there anything i can do to the engine to make it more powefull. i dont mind if its 1hp or 20 hp gains, just anything to give it a bit more nippyness.
    anyone know anything?

    strip, uprated enclosed airfilter/pannel filter, manifold, de-cat, back box, cams, re-map.

    i was lookin at that (vtr inlet) .... does it make alot of diffrence?

    yeah it does. not alot. maybe 2bhp. its because of the vtr 1.6 inlet is abit bigger than the 1.4. going to do it to my 1.1 with a 1.4 engine. salvaged my 1.4 engine from my furio which got wiped out by a bus . 1.1 gearbox + 1.4 engine. close ratio gearbox will rocket you off the line quicker than most things. (but dont hold me to that)

    i got a 1.1 box in my furio picks up hell of a lot faster then it did

    dont you loose top end tho?? and i would do a vtr but its gettin mapped tomorrow

    yeh you do lose top end iv herd but its not as if northern ireland has that many roads to get a 1400 to top end :L i may try that vtr inlet. any ideas how much they are?

    Aftermarket airfilter, VTR TB & inlet, VTR head, Cam, Lightweigt cam pulley, light weight crank & alternator pulley, 421 mani, decat pipe, mid-pipe without silencer, aftermarket backbox, remap and loose weight

    Vtr inlet. scrappy? 20 quid maybe? ebay hmm not sure have a browse.

    cheap options straight through, decat 4-2-1 mani
    real power that + the below.
    bike carbs and cams, skim head, bore it out = win on 1.4 you actually get very good gains its just not very cheap. for less you could you could stick a 16v in.

    I will be honest, i noticed no difference when i took the rear seats, bench, carpet, and sound deadening out

    rallye head would be better, it allready has an uprated camshaft. Or you can fit a VTR head with wilder cam

    its got a CDA air box, a cat cam, 4-2-1 manifold into a straight pipe to the re-box

    depends if you take into account the loss of bhp with age... iam happy with it can still have work done to it and it was ment to be a budget first car...
