hi ive been looking on the net and found a few places but where would you recomend?
i want to send my vtr 8v engine and get it rebuilt. im not that good with engines so i would just cock it up.
and what parts would be best to build it back up with?
i am only spending around £1000 would i get eny thing decent or shall i save a bit more up?
or what about droping a vts in i no it will be a lot faster but can i still use the same bits i.e gearbox so on
    thanks jony

Depends what your after mate, more power or just a rebuild?
There's a few people on here and other forums that will fit 16v engines for £600 including engine (but possibly high mileage one) but also offer a jp4 conversion (out of newer cars very similar engine usually alot lower miles 5k-48k) for a little more £700/800 which personally I would do rather than get your vtr lump rebuilt (unless a mate can rebuild yours for a decent price)

Hope I've helped you.. anything esle just ask/pm

Ask at garages near you, I mean you can get a lot more power from a VTR with £1000, Cam, New Pistons Etc... Putting a VTS Engine in is a good idea but I'd stick with a VTR. I'm rebuilding my VTR myself with PH4 Cam, Lightend Flywheel, New Pistons, Port & Polished Head/Throttle Bodie Etc... And it's not costing me anymore than about £600 but that's fitting it myself also. I've got mate's who have had theirs done for £500 including refitting not just an Engine rebuild. Good luck mate.

    Merry Christmas!!!!
