#2Have you tried flushing the old fluid out and replacing it with dot 5.1? Brake fluid absorbs moisture, so you end compressing the water when you appy pressure on the pedal and over long periods of heavy use induses brake fade earlier due to boiling the water. Fast road pads, drilled disc's and braided hoses will make a massive difference to your stopping power. If you are firmly set on bigger brakes you'll have to move up to 15's and then GTi-6 brakes would be the first cost effective brake upgrade.

#3could use some nice billet 4 pots, with a variety of makes to chose from. They usually require a small spacer to clear the alloys, not sure if you would be OK with that though

#4266mm off a 206 GTi will fit under VTR wheels. Good upgrade too IMO.

#5cheers titchster was the answer i was looking for. just need to find a set now
-
#6can also get the 266mm off a 306 hdi, mine are off a T reg and only required a small amount of grinding to clear the struts.
Im just running cheap disks and pads and they are great!
With a set of mintex m1144 pads and mintex discs i reckon they would be ace as i had abit of fade on a track day i done with cheap ones, but that was under ALOT of heavy braking from say 90mph lol -
#7266mm is the biggest standard fit caliper you can use. 306 hdi and 206gti calipers
Berlingo vans also run 266mm iirc -
#8266mm

I got mine off a xsara hdi, and a 23mm master cyclinder off a 306... -
#9I had a set of stock wheels at times over my old AP 4pots with 270mm rotors
-
#10do all 306's have 23mm master cyclinder or just gti 6's?
-
#11I got mine off a 306 hdi
-
#12may sound silly but how can you tell if it is a 23mm master cyclinder?
