Acceleration!

   what gearbox set up would be best to run on my vtr for best acceleration, not rele bothered about top end tbh, heard 106 rallye box is pritty good.
   any help would be much appreciated

   people love the S2 rallye box's, you can use the 1.1 box too, but think it needs different driveshafts cuz its not the same type as the VTR/S driveshafts

   S1 Rallye box is good for acceleration, although you will find you change gears a lot.
   
   1.1 box is good IMO, I managed an 8.6s 0-60 with a breathed on 8v. And 6.6 with a breathed on 16v.

   By breathed do you mean breathing mods (decent air feed and exhaust) or something elece?

   it should last you quite a while, people hav different opinions on the but if yor goin 4 acceleration 1.1 is ya best bet

   i have heard that the 1.5d gearbox is good as well, stronger than the 1.1 but you will still get good acceleration from it

    You was told wrong then.
    
    Best box for you would be a 1.4XSI box, wont be changing as much as an s1 rallye but will be shorter than th S2rallye/1.6 rallye box.
