    thats correct why ask

Who said that? they some kind of tuning place?

It isnt a good thing to start of modding your car m8,only thing it will do is knacker it.

dont go back to that "tuning" place EVER.

Sounds like you have bought the 2p resistor. It wont do anything but make the car over fuel and potentially damage the engine.

    why say that mate

Yeah or a remap pm me m8 i can recommend a good place in bury which isnt to far from you
  15. #15
no theres no point, if you must then get a dastek or an ecu remap but there is no point unless you have some other major modifications to map to.

Buying a "chip" or resistor wont gain you 10/15/20/10000 bhp on its own.

ANd i wouldnt consider a remap/dastek unless i had minimum: enclosed filter, exhaust, manifold and a replacement cam(s) because anything lower isnt going to warrant the cost

have you had some work done there mate

i have a piper cross air filter
am getting a stainlees but dont
know what name and size to get mate
  18. #18
Whatever one you like the look/price of. MAgnex/scorpion/piper are popular.

But you have nothing that warrants a remap or dastek so save your money.

ALso how much did this "tuning" (and i use the word VERY loosely) place charge you for this resistor?

This thread will be moved to the engines section shortly

Scott, Well Lane Turbo Centre is one of the leading performance company in yorkshire. I have a few mates with big jap motas and they did a rolling road shoot out there which was on rev bob talk show, shown on men and motors. im not saying i know what andrew has bought, but i would take my car to them. may be there thinking about a different chip if they havent seen his!!!

well they have made a mockery of themselves.

From all sounds im correct with my assumption of it being one of the resisitors i cant think of any other "chip" that requires you to fit it only with the IAT sensor and the fact that they spoke well of it makes only more of a mockery. And recommending said "chip" as a good starting mod furthers my thoughts.

Now i cant say for sure thats what they said, im only going on what the lad has said but something doesnt add up.

got to agree as i know well lane, but if they have sold or suggested the resistor for the IAT sensor then that says it all really.

    hi scot

thanks 4 the info on well lane though it was a ok mod shop have you heard of this mod chip got it on ebay ok didnt pay alot but feed back say it dose work very well i think it works by when installed it tells the ecu that more air is been used so the ecu tells the injectors and thats were the bhp comes in but as yet cant find the air intake temperature sensor <iat>
the guys email is moho2000@aol.com plus if ya go 2 car mods on ebay its there

    catch ya later scott

by the sounds of it mate like all the others say it just tricks the engine into thinkin its cold all the time so injcts more fuel this is bad could lead to bore wash NOT GOOD
  24. #24
thanks got a ind kit getting a stainless how can i get more bhp without spending silly money my cars worth it just ant got the cash
  25. #25
