freelander owners forum will probably give you a better idea than a saxo one imo.

£350 inc parts, used to work for land rover main agent so done plenty. if its a td4 you may need a dual mass flywheel as well

Epic bump I know, but its gone again.

Shoved it in 4th gear and drove it home yesterday, why has it gone so quick? Its done less than 200 miles since the last one and 180 of those miles were driven by my mum. Shit parts? I don't get it, 104k fine on one clutch and 200 miles on a new one!

very strange, they're not renowned for being heavy on clutches, got to be a fault with the clutch or poor fitment for it to have gone within that space of time. Has the pedal gone heavy by any chance as the clutch operating fork is known to sieze on its pivots where the operating shaft passes through the gearbox casing

Ever since it come out of the garage back in December it seemed to have struggled with first and second when going into gear a few times. Even when it come out of the garage the guy said it makes a vibrating noise/feeling only when going 30mph spot on, and that lasts for a few seconds then goes away

that discounts dual mass flywheel breaking up then lol. If its shagged as in slipping/burnt out then a possibility is that the fork pivot has siezed and its been holding pressure off the drive plate hence wearing it out in double quick time. If you get the airbox off and try moving the operating arm then it should move freely, if its tight or even solid then you're on the right track. Aside from that, i'm buggered if i know lol

Would it help if I say that the last clutch was slipping and eventually burnt out, always use to smell really badly after it was used and eventually went trying to get up a hill? 5000k revs, 4th gear dropping from 40mph to 15 then bang.

I will just see what a garage says, Can't be asked with spending more money on it, should be covered under the warranty if we got one on the last repair. If not then its bye-bye Landrover time

something has been sticking and holding the clutch off if its been stinking everytime you've used it, moneys on pivot arm siezed or hydraulic fault, doesn't allow clutch to fully engage, a bit like driving round with your foot on the pedal
