Main beams and fogs

   Is it possible to connect the fog lights to the full beams like some 106s?
   
   If so what does it involve?

   Yes though I did not even realise the 106 did that lol. All you do is plug the relay in to the hi beam and then the what were fog lights will work as per driving lights and only come on when hi beams are on. Though strictly they will still be fog lights due to the code on them and you can still get a fine for using them when there not foggy. They will be useless as fog lights as well after you change it over as the hi beam would blind your self if you ever tried to use them when it was actually foggy lol

   mates 106 gti does it and was just wondering how it was done. So i couldn't have them as both then? In otherwords could have the fogs off sometimes.

   You could have it as both it would just be a little more complicated. Easiest way would just be to add another switch. You could retain the original fog light system and then just take another feed to the fog relay from the hi beam and then just hide a toggle switch some place. Or if you have any empty switch spaces on dash you could fit one there. With the fog lights switch turned off the extra witch would work them like a regular driving lamp. I cant tell you exactly what wires to do though as I have never ripped out a VTR dash.

   its just an idea at the moment but thought i would investagate the options. A mate wired fogs into his corsa via a switch cause his car didnt have any so might get his advice aswell.

   just to let you know on 106's they arent fogs, just extra driving lights, so no re-wiring is needed.

   As said, 106s with the sport bumper (GTi/Quiksilver (Rallye has blanks)) have driving lights, which aren't the same as fogs, although I can see the attraction of having fogs come on with main beam (I sometimes do it, switch them off when I dip beam again, so I don't look like too much of a cunt ), they don't do anywhere near as much as the spot/driving lights.

    Can the fogs be changed for driving lights? or would lower wattage bulbs do?
