idle issues, help please?

Posted something like this up a couple of days with only 2 replys, my saxo 1.4 furio idles at 900rpm, the second you touch the pedel it shoots to 2000+ rpm, on the throttle body where the throttle cable goes, theres the butter fly, there is a torx bolt that can be adjusted, its screwed all the way down, i was thinking if i get the car to running temp so the cold start valve is shut off, maybe if i move this bolt up just a fraction it may sort out the idle? also when revved it takes a while, not forever but just a while to come down the revs (back to around 2000rpm) do you guys recon it could be the cable or anything in the throttle body? a picture is below

    Cheers all of Sax-P

Sounds like your throttle cable is too tight, try loosening it a but mate

Failing that it could also be the idle control valve or maybe the throttle position sensor.

that bolt on the photo or the cable underneather the throttle body? the car has been hooked upto a diganostics machine, came back A-OK so im thinking that bolt maybe even the cable as you said pal, cheers

dont fiddle with that screw, adjust the cable using the tensioner clip to the left of the inlet
