VTR, start of project!

   Well i sold me Furio about a week ago and picked up my VTR.
   
   I've never seen this colour of VTR before and i personally think its really nice.
   
   Its been lowered 55mm on the back( getting it raised v.soon to 40mm)
   
   Been lowered 45mm i think on the front.
   
   Had a performance straight through exhaust fitted which sounds really good.
   
   I swapped my original air filter over (Pipercross).
   
   Vts wheels i have been told, sprayed gun meta grey with lime green strips round the edge.
   
   Green wing mirrors ( not too sure on them yet)
   
   De-wipered rear window.
   
   Smoked original front and rear lights.
   
   Sprayed green badges.
   
   Bad Points
   
   
   Needed a new clutch, so had a velvo (think its called that) on sat,
   
   Unfortunatly while we were doing that i found out i needed a new gear box, so hopefully doing that by next week.
   
   It is getting raised by next week as well so won't rub any more.
   
   Needs a little bit of welding but that won't be a problem, have that sorted soon.
   
   had my tracking sorted.
   
   
   
   I think it looks good. But i got it as a project so ideas really welcome!
   
   I want it looking really different and have just started a new job so have funds.

   good base for a project mate i will be following your thread so keep it updated. will also have a vtr mk1project in the new year, really looking forward to jumping into a project and making it my own.

   i think that looks smart, abit of a clean up, either get rid of the green mirrors, or do a few more bits, badges, door handles etc,
   how much you pay for it dude?

   Just after that photo i gave it a good clean and polish and its in really good condition for sayings it on a 1999 plate. The badges are already green, but i was thinking a green border on the side strips? Im not sure yet. I got it for £1050, and its only done 57k.

    bargain mate putting a deposit on my white vtr soon. its my mates spare vtr. needs mega work and love pickin it up for 350. needs abit of welding done here and there.
    
    im picking it up from burton upon trent. hopefully see it at the west/east midlands regional meets matey!

    Well its a bit dirty now, haha.
    
    Been driving to work everyday. But it will be getting polished every weekend, so on sunday i will post new pics.
    
    Its also got quiksilver back seats (bit weird ha) and i swear these aren't standard vtr seats either, so il get more pics up soon.

    Sounds like its had bodge jobs done on it lol . but 57k just over a grand not bad at all... Loose those green mirrors though lol they make it look like some idiots attemped to Mod it ... good base for something nice though

    maritius blue ftw ive had 2 saxos this colour now
    looks a tidy base

    Lush colour mate and lush car but i aint keen on the mirrors myself but each to their own aye , keep the rims as they are though they look rare .

    cheers everyone! Ye it does rub loads lowered 55mm on the back. Should hopefully be getting a new gearbox next week, and maybe do something about the mirrors.

    ok, i've been reading a few threads on here and have decided i should get it cammed and re-maped afterwards, i don't know much about this so if anyone could help me out much appreciated.
    I have been looking a kent cams, think there called, are these any good?
    I'm also hoping to get the original mirrors on soon as im starting to dislike the green ha.

    Looks like a nice base but them mirrors - infact all the green just looks plain wrong on a blue car
    IMO go white on her - would be different to the usual black and blue theme everyone goes for

    Should be receiving my newer gearbox this week and fitting it on saturday , slowly everything is going into place.
    
    Just bought some more clips for the bodykit as its coming off in places. I was also thinking about getting 'greenstuff' pads, are they worth the money?

    i cleaned and hovered her out on sun, but i forgot to dry her off so it all froze over , it looked top dollar too! haha

    not overly keen on the whole mirror being green, maybe just have the caps green?

    I haven't updated in ages, recently i've had a new tire and have decided that i WILL get rid of those mirrors! On saturday my side skirt fell off and has snapped, so i will need to source one of them from some where............. anyone selling one?
