Important! : gearbox?

I have a big problem with my car's gearbox. I got stuck on a snow-filled grass bank and I was trying to free the car going rapidly through the gears at high revs. I have completely lost 3rd gear and now the car is making a grinding noise when coasting in gear or in neutral. Is this down to the gear selector or is my box gone. How much would it be to get fixed or how much would a replacement 1.1/1.4/1.6 gearbox be? Please Help!

    Car is a 1.6 Saxo VTR 2003.

why would you do a thing like that?

about 100quid for a box depends on model and miles

    get a new box,
    box will cost between £50-100
best replacing with a low miles vtr box.

Ha, the amount of people that have bought second hand "low milage" box's to find out there just as sh*gged as the one theyve just dropped is unreal. Your better off spending more and getting a re-furbed box.

not really, you get a box from a trustworthy place with that will allow refunds if its shagged

I wish there were places like that in the northeast!
