You guys think it will be ok to fit 195/45/r16 instead of 195/40/r16 to my wheels as they are a good bit cheaper and badly need x2 new tyres.

    Cheers

depending on how low your car is, you might run the risk of the 45 profile tyres rubbing.

Suppose theres only 1 way to find out.

imo the smaller profile look the dog's, but its all down to money!

Na, unless theres someone on here with a similar set-up who are running 195 45 16's, and they could shed some light, but other than that, theres no way of knowing without running them

The only thing i can suggest is getting a pair of budget 45 tyres for the back, because there cheap as chips and will do you untill you can affort to replace them (should they rub).

Hmmm can get the 45's delivered for £80 a pair, the 40'2 120ish

suppose ill just have to save for the 40's, just with this weather and all. the back pair are just above 2mm which will give me some time.

    cheers

Yeah, 40's cost a fortune compared to 40's, 2mm is plenty to last untill crimbo is over and you can get a little extra cash in!
