ph3s pre map cam timing

what have people found to be the best for ph3s before mapping?
standard marks, newmans recomendation or your own.
  2. #2
standard marks. inlet retarded 3degrees iirc

set mine up for peak power, 110 degress on both cams, it will run fine, i ran mine like this for 6 months unmapped

it was fucking shocking honestly, but i had loads of faults with the car.

once the faults were sorted out it ran 138@ fly at chip wizards but that was with a really really shit map on it (not standard, thank BHP tuner for that the cocks)

was it one of those generic maps that gets thrown on from bhp tuner? was there a deffinate increase in power even unmapped?

retare the inlet 2 degree will run like standard unmapped.

but even standard mark it wil be ok.

yea, your classic copy and paste generic mapping. even though it was supposed to be a live map. the nob heads.

yea it will feel to pull better with just the cams but your only getting 50% of the potential power unmapped. you notice the difference twice over

im fitting ph3's in a few weeks, im also interested in what timing to set it to, i will prob be driving the car for a couple weeks unmapped, so ideally i just want it to idle and be relaible lol

I tend to advance the exhaust rather than retard the intake.

yer yer when mapped advancing the exhaust cam is ok, but umpped ken newman told me to retard the inlet 2 degrees, and it worked very well for me!
