Some weird s*** going on with my VTS, just had it back from the garage after having a new o2 sensor fitted. The engine light has come back on again and am told that this is because the car thinks the Cat is dying (the car has a decat pipe) and the only way to get the light out for good is to get the cat back on, which will be happening next month for the MOT anyway.
My biggest issue right now is this weird electrical issue i've been having for about a week.
The first instance happened on my short trip (less than 2 miles) home from work. Just around the corner from my house, all the electrics in the car (Headunit, lights momentarly died, the clock reset itself to 01:00, and the speedo, rev counter for a split second went to zero, then bounced back up to the correct speed / rpm, i was doing around 30 at the time so can't say i stopped lol). At the same time the ABS light came on, up until i got home, turned the car off and on again then all was back to normal... Hmmmm i thought, book her in the garage right after xmas then.
The second instance, 3 nights ago also on the way home from work. I had dropped one of my colleagues off home (20 miles away from where i live). Stopped to let them out, as i pulled away all the electrics momentarly went off again, but this time the key light (the imob. light iirc) started flashing. Sh** i thought, so went straight home, the electrics died for a split second twice on the 20 miles trip. When i got home i turned the car off, tried to stat it again but she wasn't having any of it. Went inside, looked on here for a clue but came up clueless.
The next day i attempted to start her up again, she fired up once before immediadtly dying, at the same time the warning lights (oil, batter) on the dash were blinking, by this i mean they were half on, like there wasn't enough power going to them, theinterior light was very very dim, the headlights died and there was a strange clicking coming from what sounded like the ecu side of the engine bay. Shi***** my pants i got out, disconnected the battery and walked to work.
Just gone to try her again today, started up fine, went for a quick trip round the block, got 1/2 mile down the road and the electrics went out for a split second, then the ABS light came on briefly before going out again and everything going back to normal...
Not using her now until I can get her into a garage and will be taking her straight there if she decides to start up again.
Anyone got any ideas whats up with my girl now??? She goes wrong like once a month (usually in line with payday) and this VTS is one problem away from being replaced with a luxo-barge...
