2nd gear crunch?

   having issues, second gear has developed a notch/crunch, is it the clutch or syncro's etc?
   
   is it new box time how do i know?

   mine does the same, only in second, i thought it was the linkage not aliging right, like stirring foooking porridge..

   yep, mine too. would be nice to get it sorted but depends on costs for me.

   Worn synchro. Either recon box/second hand one or put up with it for now. You might eleiviate the problem by blipping the throttle to match revs on 3rd to 2nd changes.

   I have the same problem after fittong a full new linkage kit i got this problem
   
   Before it was fine but my gearstick had alot of play thats why i did the gear linkage replacement
   
   When 8 change down to second from third its fine
   
   But miving up fro 1st to 2nd is where i get the crunch
   
   Adding lots of greasr to the pivit ball mechinism stops the problem for a while but comes back when grease has worn of a bit

   crunching gears you need a gearbox rebuild or 2nd and one from breakers yard but could run into the same problem. Had the exact problems as people saying here 2nd and 3rd gear where shagged.
   
   Had full rebuild done 2nd 3rd cogs changed reverse also done all bearing done and new clutch kit for £350 to £400 if can remember right.

   Guy does all over the uk can drop off with him will have your car in a few days time depending on workload no doubt but does a top job and don't fk around with cheap crap. Also will ask you on what parts you want fitting in standard ome or uprated and gonna last a long time to come. I was tempted at getting a 2nd hand box but can be faced with the same problems so I went rebuild to know I know not gonna need doing for a long time to come .
