past few days my fuel cap has been getting harder and harder to unscrew, i throught it was just the cold weather, but now its stuck on for good its a standerd cap, iv pured hot water over it and de-icer and still nothing, i think the actule insides of it is wrecked.

getting it off wont be a problem but does anyone know where i could get a new one, baring in mind i still need to use my key or will i need one with a different key?

I dont think you'll be able get another lock that you can use the same key with. I had this problem with mine. I just got another lock with a key for it. Could speak to citroen but i bet it will be expensive even if they can help.

I'm having this problem with my 2001 VTR. Why couldn't it be a fuel flap and a screwing cap underneath?! I still can't get it open and am supposed to be going visiting family today, i've tried everything! It wont budge!! I really don't want to break the lock because the fuel cap is like part of the body of the car, if i break it and it doesn't go back on, i'm left with a fucking hole in the side of my car!!

If i've tried lots of hot water, de-icer, heating the key. What else is there?

Why is every other lock on my car fine too? It's froze up before but hot water fixed it in seconds. It's not making any difference now, It gets so far and just stops. I'm also worried i'll break my only key!

i fixed mine in the end by buying a metal lock, the plastic locks i found froze easy and broke alot, so i brought one that had a metal lock and never been stuck on me

Mine did this at the pertol station, so I bought some de icer and sprayed it in with the little flap open. Opened a treat. Did it again next time so I sprayed the lock all round and inside with de icer and its never done it again!

I think the pertol cap is prone to this because its tilted slightly upwards and rain settles on the lock, the door locks are vertical.

    i had this problem too

I think i just had to force the key right to the end of the barrel and shimmy it

De icer was used but i can't say if it helped - wd40 would have been more of use

Your grammar is terrible! BTW when you used de-icer, did you spray it on the outside of the lock, or did you open the little key flap and spray it in?
