VTS oil pump

  1. #1
Anyone know how much a new replacement oil pump/chain is for the VTS? Looked on Euro Car Parts and GSF, but can't find it listed on either.

    Cheers, Andy

Never use them tbh. Just they list most parts and its good as a benchmark price.

Then know 15% off and thats the price from local motor factors lol

I took my pump apart to check it and clean it out, and a little spring shot out of it. I put it back where I think it came from (only place it could really have come from) but would just like to check if possible.

However if prices are reasonable for a replacment, I may throw a new one in as everything else is new in the engine anyway

normally about 30 for an oil pump but there again it generally depends onthe engine, shouldnt imagine itl be too much for a tu lump tbh

Off the top of my head it's 120-150 for a new pump from Citroën - will confirm in an hour or so

Oh and Andy get a new pump, last thing you want is your engine to loose oil pressure and go fucked up.

Ross - Thanks mate, you are a legend. Exactly what I needed. I'll whip my pump apart again in the morning and check its all correctly assembled.

Neil. I'll price one up from motor factors, but the one I have has only done 40k and I've cleaned all the crap out of it so should be good as new

    No problem

Aslong as inside is all clean, the teeth on the internal wheels don't have much wear on them and the oil pickup filter is clean the should be fine to run.

Personally I'd never go non-oem for an oil pump (especially when an oem one is £150), oil pressure gauge should help to keep track, and warn you if it goes pear shaped!
