I have been having increasing trouble starting my standard 1.1 saxo particularily in the cold mornings. I replaced the battery yesterday after Halfords confirmed the old one was 'unservicable' ; it did start this morning but only after a bit of 'spluttering'! Is this a common problem and are there any further checks I can do to cure the problem? PLEASE HELP as it is driving me mad!

#2I've got the same problem and was told it could be a sensor so I'd get it in for a diagnostic

#3Thanks for the info; today I remade all the electrical connections visible under the bonnet and took all the plug leads off the top of the coil pack, gave it a good clean and liberally sprayed it with WD40 and bingo; no more spluttering and a good healthy start! Looks like this was the problem.
