Changing Front Shock Absorbers

    Am going to replace my front shocks tomorrow and am just querying how you get the old ones out (have checked the sticky but there are no pics)

    Have replaced my springs in the past so I purely want to know how to replace the shock absorber

    its the same routen as the springs but when you have the spring off theres a gold cap holding the shock in place undo that with some mole grips and the shock wil slide straight out iirc! Hope this helps matey

    Mole grips or a vise, chisel and hammer to undo the cap.

    Was obvious once I saw the shock

    Were tight mofo's - used a vice and water pump pliers

    where can i get the correct tool, to take the gold cap off the shocks, to take the damper out? and wots the proper name of the tool? thanks.
