not a fan of them under the standard splitter on a vtr will it be hard to fit if i took the standard one off? I think it would look better imo

#3i like them and am interested in getting one
but how do you fit them ? -
#5Most people use self tapping screws to secure them to the bumper with the added help of tigar seal
-
#6so do you take off the old splitter and bacily replace it then ?
-
#8Seen one the other day where someone had used a Laguna item to replace the original one, didn't look too good IMO.
If you do that, you'd also have to hack the bumper as the original splitter is still part of the bumper moulding.
I'd put it on the bottom... and i did

#9i love youre car chip

how did you get it too stay on looks really neat and tidy on youres -
#10Looks super lower now!! nice job..........

#11Right, i've drilled 5 or 6 holes (can't remember exact amount) behind the original Saxo 'splitter' and in the top of the Laguna splitter. These all run around the front of the car.Quote:i love youre car chip

I then have M6 bolts going through these holes with Nyloc nuts and washers.
To keep it spaced properly, i've used 1/4" nominal bore Steel pipe, which is 50mm long per bolt (painted ofcourse), to sleeve the bolt in the space between the bumper and the Laguna splitter. If you can imagine, the spacer's are directly behind the original splitter.
Then on the end's simply a self tapper each side, with a spy clip.
Hope that make's sense, but i do reckon it's the best way to fit it. Mine has had some real abuse (my front bumper sometimes hit's the floor on what seem's like a flat road), but it has NEVER come off.
Also, the bumper hitting the floor isn't as bad as it sounds. The Laugna splitter's, as you probably know, is made of rubber. Everything it hit's, it just bends, and then goes back to normal shape
(Never actually hit the proper bumper lol)

#12iv used 6mm bolts and lock nuts in the past too, used about 12 in all, the bumper would come off before the spillter hah
-
#13i was gonna say you cant remove the vtr splitter cus it aint a splitter its just the black part of the bumper lol and it looks fine like CHIP's. You could smooth the black bit in to the bumper and colour code then add the laguna splitter
-
#16thats different and quite coool man
-
#17I've got one on mine too, takes about hour or two to fit, have to match it up all the way round etc, heres mine:

Bought it off Ebay for £21.00. -
#18looks gr8 wouldnt mind 1 myself
-
#19could always try a cupra spliiter on the front like i had on my mk1, looks just a good and not so fat as a laguna.
-
#20does look good
or brake the mould and go hunting for a style sumone hasnt usesd.
theres loads out there. VR6 golf one being one of my faves -
#21i dont like the way it goes in and comes back out.... alot easier just to drill and file the black part of the bumper on a saxo?
-
#22when i bought a new bumper it had the original already cut off and a laguna screwed onto the bumper. looks better this way i think. not so.... long if you no what i mean

my progress thread has a few more pics

-
#24cheers bud
-
#25laguna splitter on its own looks the dogs
was it hard to do?
-
#26imo if it was smoothed in it would look 100% better
-
#28well with mine as the two ends of the splitter were flapping around, i just tigersealed a bit of mdf and screwed the splitter into it. piss easy really, unless the bumpers on the car it wont be as easy as with the bumper off
-
#29my bumpers off the car just now anyway, just need to find a local splitterQuote:well with mine as the two ends of the splitter were flapping around, i just tigersealed a bit of mdf and screwed the splitter into it. piss easy really, unless the bumpers on the car it wont be as easy as with the bumper off
