cheapest place for an oil filter

    Try german swedish french car parts (GSF) usually excellent value for money and good quality too

    Get yourself a Purflex filter from peugeot/citroen. The quality of purflex is superior compared to most other filters. And at about £6.50 each you can't go wrong!

    i think i will shove a genuine one on for the minute as im not sure how old the oil is, a treat lol

    There all the same price virtually - just go to Citroen and get one
    I mean even halfords sell them at a reasonable price
    You'll have change from £10 anywhere you go - bit of silly thread no or did you not have a check around before posting this question?

    lool no!

    dropping it and putting new stuff in, but if the old stuff has been in there for a while there will obviously be a buildup of residue in the oil paths that wouldnt be there on a regularly serviced car

    like i say its a new car to me, and not 100% sure of its past

    just drain the old oil, remove the old filter give the seal a clean (finger and some oil) put it back on fill half with cheap oil Run the engine then turn off, let cool and drain. change filter for new, fill with Good new oil. Job done gets the crap out.
